Application/Admission

Individualized major programs typically have an application process that requires students to prepare a plan of study and write a statement that provides a rationale for the major. Students are generally required to have one or more faculty sponsors or advisors. Applications are commonly reviewed and approved by a faculty committee. Some programs have GPA requirements; a few programs are limited to high-achieving or Honors students.

Information about the application and admissions processes of some programs may be found online. We have sought to provide a diverse list of small, medium, and large programs at both public and private institutions whose websites include application information. Introductory or gateway courses may also have information and guidelines related to the application/admission process.
